Ulkoiluasu 1785 kesäksi - summer outdoor habit 1785

Kun tuo piika on nyt saanut uuden asun, täytyy rouvankin jotain uutta päälleen saada. Ja kun aiheena on raita, niin sehän tarkoittaa, että vaatteen tulee olla vuosisadan loppua - aiemminhan nuo raidat eivät todellakaan olleet meille säätyläisille sopivia, vain rahvaat käyttivät raitakuosia vaatteissaan.

Since the maid had her new outfit it's time for the lady of the house to get a new outfit too. And because it happens to be time for striped-challenge as well, I'll have to do something from the enf on the 18th century. Stripes were not suitable (fashionable) for the upper class, only the poor farmers used them in their poor home-made clothes.

Koska en omista vuosisadan lopun vaatteita, ajattelin tietenkin, että valmistaminen tulee aloittaa kureliivin teosta. Mutta hupsista hei - kureliivi, jota olen käyttäynyt mallinukkeni päällä ja on noin kymmenen vuotta vanha, olikin oikein mukavasti venähtänyt ja edestä nyöritettävänä saan sillä ruhoni oikeaan muotoon. I don't have any clothes for this era so I haven't done stays for that period either. But I happened to notice that my very very old stays, which I have used on my dress form, gave me the right shape. Ok, it's not really great but it'll do at least til I get the inspiration to make a new pair of stays.

Kangas, jota tulen käyttämään on mitälie polyesteria, mutta onpahan ainakin värikäs. Vuoriksi laitan tiilenruskeaa puuvillaa (lakanakangasta). Ja kuvanmukaiset hapsut haluan tietenkin.

I'll use a polyester fabric so that much for historical accuracy but I like the colours. The lining will be red/ brown sheet cotton. And of course I want that ribbon fringe
